Gaming 100
The Ministry of Education organized a special event to launch the Gaming 100 course, held in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, with the participation of 800 male and female secondary school students. The event took place at the Ministry of Education Hall in Isa Town.
In February 2026, the Ministry of Education launched Gaming 100, a nationally developed, innovative course that reflects a forward-looking approach to education in the digital age. The course is offered to all secondary school students across public schools in the Kingdom and aims to equip students with future-ready competencies by transforming gaming from a recreational activity into a structured academic subject grounded in critical thinking, problem-solving, innovative storytelling, and technical creativity.
The course is designed around five comprehensive modules, offering students a holistic understanding of the gaming ecosystem, covering the foundations and history of video games, game design and mechanics, building games, gaming in culture and society, and careers in gaming. Rather than focusing on gameplay, the course emphasizes how games are conceptualized, developed, and brought to market, encouraging students to become creators rather than simply consumers of digital content.
