Following directives from HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Tamkeen launches programme to train 50,000 Bahrainis in AI

The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) launched a first-of-its-kind bundle to train 50K Bahrainis in Artificial Intelligence by 2030, following directives from His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

This initiative reflects the importance of investing in Bahraini talent to equip them with highly in-demand skills and provide them with training and development opportunities that can facilitate their success through programmes and initiatives designed to upskill national talent and enhance their competitiveness, making them the employees of choice in the labour market.

The initiative includes three main tracks to provide AI training. The first track, aimed at leaders and executives, is designed to shift the mindset of executives in Bahrain towards proactive AI adoption, enabling them to utilise AI applications effectively in their organizations. The second track aims to provide general AI training to Bahrainis to equip them with the knowledge required to utilise AI tools effectively for automation, data analytics, and to enhance productivity, while the third track is aimed at AI specialists to train them to build AI tools.

This initiative aligns with Tamkeen’s strategic priorities for 2025, which focus on enhancing the position and competitiveness of Bahrainis in the private sector, equipping Bahrainis with suitable skills for career development in the private sector and prioritising enterprise growth, digitisation and sustainability and supporting the development of the ecosystem surrounding the labour market and private sector.

Tamkeen has partnered with several leading local and international training providers to offer these programmes. Enterprises interested in this program can register through Tamkeen’s website: https://www.tamkeen.bh/en/programs/ai-training
