His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), chaired a meeting of the Council, attended by members of the Council.
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad affirmed that investing in Bahraini youth is a national responsibility that requires initiatives to broaden their educational and employment opportunities, strengthen their identity, discover their talents, and connect them with suitable opportunities.
His Highness welcomed the launch of the "Nasser bin Hamad Scholarship" by the Academic Excellence Association, offering opportunities to study at leading universities worldwide. The scholarship aims to support outstanding Bahraini students and provide them with educational opportunities at prestigious academic institutions, contributing to the development of qualified national talent capable of sustaining excellence and the Kingdom’s development.
His Highness directed the completion of coordination with selected educational institutions and relevant embassies, the preparation of the necessary memoranda of understanding, and the inclusion of the scholarship in international university platforms.
The scholarship will provide annual opportunities for Bahraini youth to pursue studies in specialisations identified according to labour market needs. It aims to promote academic excellence and equip students with the knowledge and skills required to meet future demands.
For her part, Maha Abdulhameed Mufeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), presented the "Career World" platform, a national digital career guidance platform launched by Skills Bahrain, an initiative under Tamkeen, in June 2026.
The platform provides comprehensive information on occupations, academic specialisations, required skills, and wage levels in Bahrain’s labour market, enabling young people and students to explore their options and make informed educational and career decisions aligned with their interests, abilities, and labour market requirements.
Mufeez noted that the platform’s launch is accompanied by promotional and awareness campaigns aimed at introducing students, parents, and career counsellors to its services and expanding its reach, thereby strengthening the link between educational pathways and career opportunities.
The platform was launched under the follow-up of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, in line with its objectives and in response to young people’s need for accurate and reliable information to guide their career paths.
The Council also reviewed a presentation on the "Hope Talents" platform, which aims to identify talented Bahraini youth, highlight their capabilities and achievements, and connect them with opportunities that support their development and professional growth.
The presentation outlined the mechanism for receiving and classifying talent profiles and making them accessible to employers seeking to identify young national talent.
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad directed to expand the platform’s reach among Bahraini youth, develop an automated mechanism to monitor the progress of their skills and capabilities, regularly update their profiles, and strengthen their connections with available employment opportunities.
The Council also reviewed a proposal on the criteria for selecting youth role models in volunteer work, aimed at promoting positive values among young people and highlighting inspiring examples within the youth sector.
The Council endorsed the proposal to implement the criteria on a pilot basis in cooperation with several youth organisations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad directed continued efforts to follow up on the meeting’s outcomes and translate them into programmes with tangible impact, ensuring that young Bahraini men and women have access to pathways that enable them to develop their capabilities and contribute to serving the nation.
