Bahraini companies Encyclo Trade and Better Foods signed a cooperation agreement with the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production Establishment (Ektifa) of the United Arab Emirates, in the presence of Fahad Mohammed bin Kardous Al Ameri, UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Made in GCC Forum and Exhibition 2026, held at Exhibition World Bahrain from October 6 to 8, with the aim of enhancing cooperation in supplying and marketing organic and healthy food products and expanding their availability in Bahrain.
The products to be introduced to the Bahraini market include Mleiha dairy products and Saba Sanabel flour and pasta products, which are available at retail outlets across the Kingdom. The agreement reflects opportunities for cooperation among GCC food companies, supporting the presence of Gulf products in the Bahraini market and expanding consumer choice.
Dr. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Agriculture and Livestock and CEO of Ektifa, said the agreement with the two Bahraini companies represents a step towards expanding the establishment's organic products in GCC markets and opening new channels for commercial and marketing cooperation, making these products more accessible to consumers in Bahrain and other GCC countries.
He said the cooperation with Encyclo Trade and Better Foods forms part of Ektifa's efforts to expand partnerships with GCC companies and increase retail outlets for its products. He noted that expansion into GCC markets offers new opportunities to improve the competitiveness of organic products, support the growth of the healthy food sector and encourage further commercial partnerships among private sector institutions across the GCC.
Dr. Al Tunaiji said participation in Made in GCC 2026 provided an opportunity to engage with GCC companies and institutions and explore potential areas of cooperation. He emphasised the importance of such events in supporting intra-GCC trade and strengthening integration between the food and industrial sectors across GCC countries.
The agreement reflects the opportunities provided by Made in GCC 2026 for Gulf companies to establish contacts, explore cooperation and exchange expertise, supporting commercial partnerships and the expansion of GCC products across member states' markets.
