The Equal Opportunities Committee at the Tender Board, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), organised an introductory workshop for employees on the SCW's responsibilities and role in advancing Bahraini women.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness of national efforts to support the advancement of Bahraini women, introduce the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women, and highlight mechanisms for implementing equal opportunities and gender balance in institutional work.
During the workshop, a team from the SCW General Secretariat delivered a presentation on the council's establishment, responsibilities and role in advancing women and integrating their needs into national development.
The presentation also outlined the areas of the National Plan for 2025–2026, covering family stability, decision-making, economic participation and quality of life.
The team reviewed the National Gender Balance Model and its five pillars: policies, gender-responsive budgeting, awareness and training, auditing and monitoring, and evaluation and impact measurement.
The workshop also addressed the role of equal opportunities committees in monitoring the implementation of equal opportunities and gender balance in the workplace, as well as key initiatives supporting women's advancement and highlighting their contributions.
The workshop forms part of the Tender Board's efforts to further strengthen cooperation with the SCW and enhance employees' understanding of equal opportunities and gender balance principles, contributing to a supportive work environment that promotes women's participation and professional advancement.
The workshop coincided with the SCW's silver jubilee celebrations, marking 25 years of achievements in advancing Bahraini women and enhancing their contributions to national development. The occasion reflects Bahrain's continued commitment to equal opportunities and gender balance and the growing participation of Bahraini women across various sectors.
