The Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) inaugurated a Breast HealthCentre at the Bahrain Defence Force Royal Medical Services under the theme"Our Centre, Care and Excellence."
The event, which aligns with the ongoing advancements inBahrain's medical systems, was attended by Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad,Minister of Health, and Brigadier General Dr. Feryal Al Sabur, Director of theHis Highness Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Centre for Kidney Diseases.
The ceremony began with an introduction by Dr. Nouf AlShaibani, Consultant General and Reconstructive Surgeon at the Bahrain OncologyCentre, followed by the official launch of the centre. Attendees then touredthe facility, where they viewed the specialised departments and cutting-edgetechnologies in use.
Brigadier Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa,Commander of the Royal Medical Services, highlighted that the establishment ofthe Breast Health Centre is a significant achievement in efforts to safeguardthe health and well-being of citizens and residents. He noted that breastdiseases are the most common in Bahrain, with affected women often beingyounger compared to global averages.
The centre is designed to meet all breast health needs,including early detection, diagnosis, genetic screening, digital mammography,biopsies, as well as psychological support, nutritional therapy, and treatmentfor benign and malignant breast tumours. Surgical and cosmetic procedures will alsobe offered, ensuring personalised care in a comprehensive and private setting.This is the first centre of its kind in Bahrain and the region, offeringintegrated breast health services.
The Commander of the Royal Medical Services further notedthat the centre is staffed by a distinguished team of specialists, providinghigh-quality diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative care under one roof,ensuring a seamless and efficient treatment experience.
