Sustainable Development Ministry launches national youth photography and videography competition
21/07/2025
The Ministry of Sustainable Development, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the Nikon Youth Programme, and Ashrafs W.L.L., launched a photography and videography competition titled "Sustainable Tourism in Bahrain through the Eyes of Youth" as part of Youth City 2030.

This initiative reflects a shared commitment to fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors, empowering young people, and enhancing their contributions to sustainable development by channeling their creative potential in support of national priorities.

The competition is open to youth aged 15 to 35 and invites participants to creatively express their vision of sustainable tourism in Bahrain.

Finalists will document the Kingdom’s narrative through photography and videography that capture key aspects of its tourism identity from archaeological and historical landmarks to environmental events, recreational and sporting activities, and traditional local cuisine, showcasing the cultural, environmental, and social dimensions of sustainable tourism.

Finalists will take part in a specialised training programme designed to build their technical and creative skills in photography, deepen their understanding of sustainable tourism, and align their work with professional content production standards. Following the training, participants will apply their knowledge through photography projects that document sustainable tourism across the Kingdom.

The competition will conclude with a closing ceremony during the final week of Youth City 2030.

The event will feature an exhibition of the participants’ work and a judging panel comprising experts in youth development, tourism, and visual arts. Winners in each category will receive valuable prizes, participate in the Nikon Youth Programme, and have their work showcased on national platforms further amplifying the pivotal role of Bahraini youth in advancing sustainable development.

The Ministry of Sustainable Development invites interested individuals to submit their entries by August 3, 2025 via the official submission form available at: https://forms.office.com/r/2GiJ9as0CRv
