Dr. Mariam Adhbi Al Jalahma, CEO of Government Hospitals, inaugurated the new Molecular Laboratory at the Laboratory Department of Salmaniya Medical Complex.

The opening of the Molecular Laboratory is part of ongoing efforts to develop laboratory and diagnostic services in government hospitals, in line with the directives of the Supreme Council of Health and the strategy for precision medicine and advanced diagnostic technologies.

Dr. Al Jalahma emphasised that the Molecular Laboratory represents a qualitative addition to the diagnostic infrastructure at Salmaniya Medical Complex, providing advanced capabilities in analysing genetic and molecular samples, contributing to early disease detection, and enhancing diagnostic and treatment accuracy.

She noted that the laboratory’s opening is an important step in developing the government hospitals’ healthcare system by introducing the latest laboratory technologies, which improve the quality and accuracy of tests and accelerate the pace of diagnosis and treatment for patients’ benefit.

Dr. Al Jalahma expressed her gratitude to all medical and technical teams involved in implementing the project, praising the efforts of qualified national staff who operate the laboratory according to the highest internationally recognised standards of quality and safety.

She highlighted that the project is part of the strategic plan of government hospitals to enhance integration between diagnostic and therapeutic services and achieve the objectives of the National Health Plan (2016-2025), which aims to improve the quality and sustainability of healthcare services for citizens and residents of the Kingdom.
