UTB and Savvy Games Group sign MoU to advance education, talent and innovation in gaming

The University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) and Savvy Games Group have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop talent, advance education and foster innovation in gaming and esports, in line with the industry's growing economic importance.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Hasan Ali Al Mulla, UTB President, and Rami Busbait, Savvy Games Group Head of Talent Management, in the presence of Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Education Minister and Chairman of the Higher Education Council, and Hisham Al Rayes, UTB Board Chairman.

Dr. Juma praised the partnership, highlighting its contribution to digital and creative education and its focus on technical skills. He reaffirmed the Ministry of Education and the Higher Education Council's support for initiatives that strengthen education and prepare graduates for emerging industries.

Dr. Al Mulla said the agreement supports UTB's strategy to equip graduates with the skills needed in innovative and emerging sectors, while bridging the gap between academic programmes and labour market needs.

Busbait said collaboration between academic institutions and industry was essential to developing talent and sustaining growth in gaming, adding that the partnership would promote knowledge exchange and support the gaming ecosystem across the GCC.

The partnership comes amid rapid regional and global growth in gaming and rising demand for expertise in game development, esports, digital content creation and interactive entertainment.

UTB continues to strengthen its industry partnerships to enhance academic programmes, foster innovation and improve graduates' employment prospects.
