The Higher Education Council, in cooperation with QS, the UK-based organisation specialising in university rankings, organised a workshop on the submission process for the 2027 QS World University Rankings, with the participation of representatives from public and private universities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The workshop aimed to provide universities with guidance on data submission mechanisms and requirements, and to highlight the importance of data accuracy and quality and their direct impact on ranking outcomes.

Dr. Diana Abdulkarim Al Jahromi, Secretary General of the Higher Education Council, said the workshop forms part of the council’s efforts to enable higher education institutions to engage with international rankings in a structured and sustainable manner, supporting continuous improvement and the quality of educational outcomes.

On his part, Dr. Ashwin Fernandes, Regional Director at QS, highlighted the importance of participation in international rankings and their role in promoting self-assessment and data-driven strategic planning, contributing to the academic reputation of higher education institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Higher Education Council has previously signed a memorandum of understanding with QS aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of higher education institutions in Bahrain, strengthening institutional and research capacities, building capabilities in global rankings, and supporting academic performance in line with international standards and best practices.
