HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman directs launch of initiatives to develop and train national healthcare competencies

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), met with Lieutenant General Doctor Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman underscored the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to investing in local talent employed across all sectors.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman noted that this is achieved through the launch of various strategic initiatives which will play an important role in enhancing the quality and long-term sustainability of healthcare services, recognising the sector as a fundamental pillar in Bahrain’s continued development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and in accordance with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
During the meeting, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman also issued directives to strengthen collaboration between Tamkeen and the Supreme Council of Health and launch a new support package aimed at developing and training national talent within the healthcare sector. This includes providing support for more than 750 Bahrainis, including doctors and nurses, to further improve capabilities and strengthen the sector’s workforce.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman emphasised that empowering national talent across all sectors remains a strategic priority, with dedicated resources and concerted efforts to help achieve this objective. His Highness reiterated the ongoing commitment to developing robust training and employment pathways that support the professional growth of Bahraini citizens and position them as the leading candidates in the labour market. In addition to advancing individual growth, this initiative serves as a catalyst for national progress and economic prosperity.
On his part, Lt. Gen. Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah expressed his appreciation for the royal support of Bahrain’s healthcare sector through the unwavering backing it receives from HM the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Lt. Gen. Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah also commended the contributions of HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman in providing comprehensive support that enhances the training and development of national talent across different sectors, including healthcare. These efforts align closely with the Supreme Council of Health’s ongoing efforts to foster a supportive healthcare environment, encourage innovation, and implement strategic initiatives that strengthen service efficiency, and ensure the sustainability of resources.
Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad, the Minister of Health, Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Tamkeen Chief Executive, along with a number of officials, also attended the meeting.
