Minister Tawfiqi emphasised that the youth movement in the Kingdom has achieved numerous accomplishments under the reign of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. She noted that the continuous directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, have made the support of Bahraini youth a national priority and have contributed to advancing youth to higher levels in various domains.

She highlighted that the prospects for youth are promising, with further progress and excellence anticipated under the vision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, who is leading the drive to empower youth.

The minister expressed her hope that the Centre will support the Board of Directors’ efforts to enhance the youth and sports work system and serve as an incentive for the team to deliver more quality programmes and initiatives.

Minister Tawfiqi toured the Centre’s facilities, which include administrative offices, a multipurpose hall, training and study rooms, computer laboratories, a comprehensive sports field, changing rooms, and service facilities to meet the needs of young people.

On his part, Hassan Awaji, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the North Sehla Youth Empowerment Centre, noted that the Centre is a national project reflecting the Kingdom’s belief that youth are the true wealth, and that investing in their abilities is an investment in the nation’s present and future.

He said that the Centre places youth at the heart of its vision by refining skills, developing abilities, and encouraging active participation, making it a platform for discovering and nurturing talents and a second home for every young person aspiring to make a positive impact.

Awaji expressed his confidence that the Centre will contribute to the implementation of purposeful programmes and plans, valuing the support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and its efforts to empower youth and expand their opportunities.
