The Royal Medical Services (RMS) has secured a new international distinction, with King Hamad University Hospital ranked among the world’s top 100 university hospitals, placing 73rd globally.

The recognition comes under the Brand Finance Global Top 250 Hospitals 2026 report, one of the foremost international benchmarks assessing academic reputation, quality of care, and performance in research and medical education.

The ranking highlights the rising profile of the Royal Medical Services and its affiliated institutions, reflecting sustained progress in specialised healthcare delivery, academic advancement and scientific research, in line with leading international standards and best practice.

Brigadier Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Medical Services (RMS), said the achievement reflects the continued patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He noted that such backing has strengthened the national healthcare system and driven ongoing improvements in service quality in accordance with global benchmarks.

Colonel Dr. Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Commander of King Hamad University Hospital, described the ranking as the outcome of a cohesive institutional approach integrating clinical services, education and research. He added that the hospital is pressing ahead with comprehensive development plans to further enhance care standards, advance medical training and research, and develop national talent to reinforce its international competitiveness.

The milestone affirms the Royal Medical Services’ commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, consolidating the Kingdom of Bahrain’s standing as a regional and international centre of healthcare excellence.
