The Ministry of Youth Affairs has announced the launch of the fifth edition of the King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment, which has become a global platform celebrating youth creativity and initiatives supporting them in sustainable development fields.

The ministry emphasised that the award is divided into two main categories. The first category is the youth category, which includes five key sections: the People Award, the Prosperity Award, the Planet Award, the Peace Award, and the Partnership Award. The second category is the youth supporters category, which includes three main awards: the Institutional Award, the Financial Award, and the Technical and Digital Award.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs has set general conditions for participation in the award, including that all applications must be submitted through the official online platform of the King Hamad Award at https://kinghamadaward.com and that applications must be submitted in English.

The evaluation process consists of three main stages: the initial screening by the Ministry of Youth Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the preliminary evaluation by a panel of international judges from the United Nations, and the final adjudication and results determination by a select group of specialists and experts in sustainable development.

The King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment aims to highlight the importance of youth empowerment in shaping a more sustainable future and encourages governments, institutions, and society to invest in the energy and creativity of young people.

The award also seeks to promote innovation, support pioneering solutions to sustainable development challenges, and encourage initiatives that enable young people to contribute effectively to their communities.

Believing in the ability of youth to develop unconventional solutions to complex development challenges, the King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment recognises outstanding youth achievements, developing global inspiration and momentum towards sustainable development. The award also highlights the crucial role of youth and the enabling factors that support them, aspiring to create a sustainable environment that empowers future generations to lead positive change in their communities.
