HM King visits 2030 Youth City, commends its success as leading initiative

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa visited 2030 Youth City, accompanied by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King.
Upon arrival, His Majesty the King was welcomed by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports; His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC); Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayed, Secretary General of the SCYS; Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs; and several senior officials overseeing 2030 Youth City.
His Majesty was briefed on the Youth City’s programmes, which provide training opportunities aimed at qualifying and empowering Bahraini youth by offering an integrated environment to develop their skills and prepare them to contribute effectively to national development.
The briefing covered 195 training programmes and around 5,500 diverse training opportunities spanning a wide range of vital domains.
HM the King toured the Youth City, visiting its five main centres: the Science and Technology Centre, the Arts and Culture Centre, the Leadership and Entrepreneurship Centre, the Media and Entertainment Centre, and the Sports and Health Centre.
HM the King also visited the accompanying Youth Market, which features a collection of initiatives and entrepreneurial projects reflecting the creativity and innovative spirit of Bahraini youth in the field of entrepreneurship.
A group photo was taken with His Majesty and those responsible for organising 2030 Youth City, in appreciation of their outstanding efforts in managing this pioneering national programme.
At the conclusion of the visit, HM the King commended the ongoing successes of 2030 Youth City since its launch thirteen years ago, recognising it as one of the leading initiatives. His Majesty noted that the visit reflects the keenness to meet Bahraini youth, appreciating their vital role in Bahrain’s progress and development, and to empower them to be more creative, develop their skills, and contribute to serving their country and advancing national development. HM the King expressed pride in Bahraini youth and their contributions toward a more prosperous future.
HM the King also highlighted the wide participation of ambitious Bahraini youth in this new edition of 2030 Youth City and the innovative and distinguished programmes offered, which meet their aspirations. His Majesty emphasised that youth are the nation’s most valuable asset and foundation for progress, and that empowering them and enhancing their participation in all domains of national work is a key priority for Bahrain to continue its comprehensive development process.
Furthermore, HM the King commended the strategic programmes led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, aimed at investing in youth skills and enhancing their role in the national progress.
HM the King also commended the efforts of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad in empowering youth and supporting their initiatives, underscoring that these efforts contribute to preparing a generation capable of active participation in national development process.
HM the King also lauded the contributions of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad in advancing the sports and youth sectors, appreciating the efforts of the Ministry of Youth Affairs in supporting Bahraini youth and their talents and abilities across various domains. His Majesty expressed appreciation to all the youth volunteers at 2030 Youth City for their dedication.
