Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, Minister of Housing and UrbanPlanning, underscored the ministry’s commitment to enhancing social housingservices as a key priority within Bahrain's comprehensive development process,led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by His RoyalHighness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and PrimeMinister, in accordance with the Government Programme (2023–2026).
The minister announced the commencement of construction thismonth on 372 housing units and apartments in Khalifa City, as part of ongoinghousing projects.
The ministry has completed site preparations and awarded thetender for the project, which includes 336 housing units and 36 ownershipapartments, with work set to begin before the end of the month, she added.
Al Romaihi said the project features modern designs tailoredto Bahraini family needs, including four-bedroom units with living spaces, akitchen, storage, and infrastructure such as roads, sewage, drainage,electricity, and water networks.
The minister emphasised that this project will address housingdemands in the Southern Governorate, contributing to the Government Programme’sgoals of providing adequate housing for citizens.
Al Romaihi underscored the ministry’s efforts to advanceother projects in partnership with the private sector, including Al BuhairHousing Project (76 units), Hawrat Sanad Project (47 units), and plans todevelop approximately 3,000 units in Khalifa City in the next phase.
