Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) and Chairman of the Bahrain Diabetes Society, opened the second Bahrain Diabetes and Obesity Conference.

The SCH President said the Kingdom of Bahrain continues to prioritise the prevention of chronic diseases, particularly diabetes and obesity, through health and awareness initiatives, early detection, and the use of scientific advances and modern technologies to improve healthcare.

The two day conference, organised by the Bahrain Diabetes Society in cooperation with Education Plus, brings together experts and specialists from Bahrain, GCC countries and Jordan.

Its scientific sessions and workshops cover diabetes and obesity among children and adolescents, early detection and prevention, precision medicine, modern treatments, artificial intelligence and glucose monitoring technologies, cardiovascular health, diabetes care in schools, weight management and insulin pump technologies.
