Attorney General announces 99% completion rate for Public Prosecution in 2025

Dr. Ali bin Fadhl Al Buainain, the Attorney General, announced that the Public Prosecution recorded an overall completion rate of 99% in 2025, during a press conference held at its headquarters to review the Authority’s key achievements.

He highlighted a number of major initiatives carried out during the year, including the organisation of an international conference on restorative criminal justice, the launch of extensive training programmes for prosecutors and judicial officers, specialised activities on modern technologies and artificial intelligence, the establishment of a specialised Drugs Prosecution, and the launch of the Criminal Protection Programme for Marine Wealth and the Environment in cooperation with relevant authorities.

Dr. Al Buainain also noted measures introduced to facilitate services for the elderly and persons with determination, the continuation of the "Ri‘aya" (Care) initiative, which has supported 1,027 cases since its launch, providing 1,209 care and protection services, and the Human Trafficking Prosecution’s receipt of an Excellence Award from the International Association of Prosecutors. He further referred to initiatives to support the empowerment of Bahraini women in the judicial and legal fields.

With regard to statistics, he said the Public Prosecution received 59,922 cases in 2025. First Attorney Wael Rashid Bualai, Assistant Attorney General, added that domestic violence cases decreased by 49% compared to the previous year. He noted that more than 270 family disputes were resolved amicably through the Reconciliation Office at the Family and Child Prosecution, and that alternative measures were applied to 94 children in accordance with the Restorative Justice Law for Children.
