In implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to accelerate housing projects to deliver 50,000 new housing units, and in accordance with the instructions of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to commence the provision of 7,000 housing services on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain's celebration of its National Day and the 26th anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s accession to the throne and the accompanying national events, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning announced the start of draw procedures for housing units under Phase Two of the Sitra Housing City project, comprising 531 housing units.
The ministry said that the electronic draw procedures for Phase Two are being conducted smoothly and efficiently, with ministry teams briefing beneficiary citizens on the process and explaining the available options during the draw.
The ministry emphasised that it will continue to communicate with citizens in the coming period to complete the draw procedures, renewing its congratulations to beneficiaries of housing services.
Beneficiary citizens expressed their satisfaction upon completing the draw procedures, commending the smooth organisation and simplified processes, which included detailed explanations by specialists regarding housing units, conditions, and guarantees provided by the ministry, as well as an overview of the electronic draw mechanism and contract details.
The Sitra Housing City project provides more than 3,000 housing services and spans an area of 243 hectares. It features integrated infrastructure and advanced community facilities. Secondary infrastructure networks have been completed, including 19 kilometres of sewage networks, 14 kilometres of stormwater lines, 18 kilometres of water pipelines, 51 kilometres of electricity cables and lighting poles, in addition to all telecommunications network works.
The city is distinguished by its strategic location and extended waterfronts spanning more than six kilometres. It incorporates modern urban standards, advanced transport networks, main and secondary roads, dedicated cycling and pedestrian paths extending 13 kilometres, and designated areas for 24 parks and open spaces covering a total area of 18 square kilometres. The project also offers modern housing unit designs tailored to meet the aspirations of Bahraini families.
