Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, emphasised that the launch of the fifth edition of the national initiative Lamea aligns with the vision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs. The initiative aims to empower Bahraini youth by equipping them with leadership and innovation skills that enable them to shape the future and contribute to national development.
Minister Tawfiqi noted that the continued support of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad has been the foundation for the project’s successive achievements, reflected in the empowerment of a distinguished group of Bahraini youth who now hold key leadership roles.
She highlighted Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to empowering young people and preparing them to take an active role in shaping the future, in line with the national vision that places Bahraini youth at the heart of sustainable development.
Minister Tawfiqi noted that the Ministry of Youth Affairs believes in the importance of high-quality, integrated programmes that offer youth opportunities to influence and take initiative. The new edition of Lamea has been designed to respond to current developments and technological advancements, meeting the aspirations of Bahraini youth in excellence, leadership, and innovation.
She added that the programme undergoes regular evaluation to enhance its structure, content, and outcomes. The latest edition introduces new pillars in its training methodology, including expanded coverage of governance, artificial intelligence applications, and the integration of academic concepts with practical tools in a modern format. The project also strengthens its partnerships with reputable local and regional institutions with extensive experience in training and youth empowerment, and engages prominent experts and specialists to deliver high-level content with tangible impact.
The minister highlighted the programme’s successful outcomes, with over 70% of graduates making significant progress in their professional careers. Several now occupy leadership roles in youth councils and national institutions, including five graduates serving as presidents of youth councils and twelve others as board members of various youth organisations, reflecting the project’s effectiveness in preparing capable national leaders.
Minister Tawfiqi called on Bahraini youth to register for the Lamea national project through the official website: https://lamea.net, and benefit from the valuable opportunities it offers.
